What happened to Containerships
CMA CGM completed its acquisition of Containerships, a Finnish intra-European carrier founded in 1966, on 31 October 2018. In 2023 CMA CGM retired the Containerships name, so its services now run under CMA CGM.
Tracking a former Containerships shipment
Look the shipment up with CMA CGM, using the reference CMA CGM issued: its Bill of Lading or booking number, or the container number. Enter the container number exactly as it is painted on the box or printed on your documents, even when it still carries an old Containerships prefix.
- A document issued before the change can still name Containerships; ask CMA CGM or your booking agent for the current reference.
- If CMA CGM cannot find the shipment, confirm the reference with the agent that issued it before assuming the cargo has not moved.
