Several reference types reach the same shipment

PIL's Track & Trace accepts more than one kind of reference, including the container number, a booking reference, and a purchase order number. That matters operationally, because the reference you hold depends on your role: a shipper often has the booking, while a warehouse team may only ever see the container. They describe the same physical move.

Reading a PIL move across transshipment

A discharge at an intermediate port is a connection, and the load onto the onward vessel is the event that confirms the container actually made it.
