What happened to CCNI
Hamburg Süd bought CCNI's container liner business in 2015, after which CCNI kept only its car-carrier operations. Hamburg Süd has since been merged into the Maersk brand, so the former CCNI container services are Maersk services today.
Tracking a former CCNI shipment
Look the shipment up with Maersk, using the reference Maersk issued: its Bill of Lading or booking number, or the container number. Enter the container number exactly as it is painted on the box or printed on your documents, even when it still carries an old CCNI prefix.
- A document issued before the change can still name CCNI; ask Maersk or your booking agent for the current reference.
- If Maersk cannot find the shipment, confirm the reference with the agent that issued it before assuming the cargo has not moved.
Track Maersk shipments in CargoScope
CargoScope tracks Maersk shipments. The Maersk page lists the reference types it accepts and starts tracking; the shipment record then keeps the available milestones and ETA changes in one place.
