Keep events scoped to each container
A gate event or vessel milestone for one box must not silently become the status of every box under the B/L. Container selection preserves that distinction.
Search from either direction
Operations may receive the B/L from documentation and the container number from a terminal or drayage partner. Both should lead back to the same organized shipment.
Use the parent for coordination
Keep notes, customer reference, exports, and team follow-up attached to the parent while reviewing physical movement at the child-container level.
Truthful ETA and milestone policy
